Schweich oversaw internal investigations and audits for many of Missouri’s largest companies, and managed audits of hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at the U.S. State Department. Tom continues to lead the MO State Auditor's office with experience, independence and tenacity.

Tom served as a federal prosecutor and Chief of Staff of the Waco investigation - considered one of the highest-profile federal investigations in U.S. history. A proven investigator, Schweich knows how to find and eliminate corruption in government.

Managing 4,000 people in over 40 countries with a budget of more than $2.5 billion at the U.S. State Department, Schweich has proven that he will be an expert manager of the Auditor Office. As a former U.S. Ambassador in Afghanistan, he has further demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
